Dear Patron,
Due to the June 30, 2002 increase in postal rates, our shipping charges have increased as well. We do, however, want you to know that your actual Shipping and Handling may be less than what is stated. Several shipping options are available and Pillaged Village strives to choose the best, most economical and rapid method for your ordering needs.


Q: I have placed an order on-line today. When should I expect to receive my order?
A: We try to send out orders of in-stock items the same week they are recieved, which means you should expect to receive your order within the Continental United States in 10 business days or less. During the month of March when we are away at Gulf Wars and again in August while we are at Pennsic order shipments of in-stock items may be delayed from 2 to 4 weeks. If you have ordered custom garb, allow 2-8 weeks. If an item you have ordered is out of stock, we will let you know and send it as soon as the item in question becomes available.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are out of the Continental U. S., orders may take longer to reach you.

Q: I do not live in the Continental United States. How long will it take my item to reach me?
A. Items shipped out of the Continental United States may take longer to arrive. We cannot accurately predict how long it will take. However, in-stock items, regardless of destination will be shipped the same week they are received. The only exception being the months of March and August as stated above.

Q: What if I need something in a particular hurry?
A. If you have a special need to have something by a certain date, please let us know! We will get it to you on time if possible. Faster (and more expensive) shipping options are sometimes required. Please call or E-mail us to alert us that a rush order is on it's way.

Q: How are orders shipped?
A: We ship orders by U.S. Post Office, or by UPS. In general, smaller and lighter packages do better by U.S. Post Office, while larger, heavier packages are sent by UPS. We frequently use Priority Mail for smaller, more expensive items.

Q: What if an item is out of stock?
A: If an item is out of stock, we will order it for you and send it to you as soon as we receive it. If it becomes permanently out of stock, we will notify you. You will NOT be charged for any item on back order until it is shipped.

Q: I saw something at your shop at Pennsic (or another event, or in an older catalog, or something a friend acquired from you, etc.) but it is not in your catalog. I want that item, what should I do?
A: Those of you who have seen our stock in person know that The Pillaged Village has a very large stock of inventory, not all of which fits into our catalogs. Our stock is vast and continually changing. If you can describe it well enough for us to identify it, and if it is available, we would be glad to send it to you. Please provide as much information as possible.

Q: Are your prices fixed?
A: We, like everyone else, are at the mercy of our suppliers, and sometimes are surprised by price changes. However, we will honor the prices in the web catalog at the time you place your order. When prices change, we will update the prices shown in the catalog to reflect the changes.

Q. How are your shipping charges figured?
A. The shipping and handling charges are automatically calculated for shipments within the continental United States when you check out from the shopping cart screen. The shipping rates charged are based on the total amount of your order when you check out. The amounts added for shipping and handling are figured as follows:

Q. What if the order is not going to the Continental United States?
A. Our shopping cart program does not have the capability to figure shipping to other countries. In this case, please ignore the shipping total. We will charge you the actual shipping charges as charged to us by the U.S. Post Office.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept checks drawn on U.S. banks, money orders, Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card and American Express Cards. Other forms of payment (such as gold, camels, and longships) may be negotiated.
